January 2025 Recap

Last year as I sat to write my goals I reviewed all the photos, all the saved workouts on my Apple Watch, even went through my journal and realized wow what an incredible year I’ve just finished. How quicklywe forget all the amazing things we’ve done when life just keeps pushing forward… this year I plan to write a monthly recap, reflect more in the moment and bring more appreciation to my life!

So here we are! January 2025! The farmer’s almanac was right and we’re experiencing quite a fluffy white winter indeed. Perfect for snowboarding season as we’ve already hit the slopes 5 times this month with our Montreal ski trip coming up tomorrow! This year I’ve gotten a lot stronger, my new board is beautiful and lightweight making the ride smoother.

Early in the month my lovely friend Liv came up to visit from Sarnia, we got to go see Moulin Rouge at Mirvish. The atmosphere of live theatre is so exciting! Last year my mom and I saw a play in a small theater in Orangeville which reminded me how much I enjoy experiencing art.

The farm is something special to behold in winter, the pond freezes over and we’ve been out skating as much as we can . The sky’s are bright at sunrise and sunset. The trees are filled with snow making everything look like a winter dream. Leo loves to lay in the snow and get completely covered like a little polar bear. He is a January puppy and his 3rd birthday just passed. He’s gotten older and wiser this year. Maybe even a little sneakier too. He’s a good boy but he loves to eat and eat, not even runs with momma can keep his little chunky butt slim.

I’ve read 4 books so far this month, as I’m writing this on the 29th and am well into my 5th book! As you know I’m in the car a lot of the time so listening to books has become the new norm for me and Spotify now allows 15 hours of listening a month. Amazing for me and finding biographies written by women with the most compelling stories I’ve ever heard. I inhaled “I’m glad my mother is dead” by jennette mcurdy, her story is heart breaking.

Another of my goals this year is to focus on my favourite activities and hobbies that tie in to the season I’m in, and for winter some of my cozy hobbies include colouring, journaling and of course reading. I started what’s known as a bullet journal this year, where you write, draw and essentially map out your planner and months as you see fit. It’s been really fun coming up with layouts, adding stickers and decorations, and just simply taking that time to myself each night to reflect on the day. If you have no idea what I’m talking about search up the bullet journal or better yet face time me and I’ll walk you through it!

Work has been slow and steady this month, I always call it the recovery month! New product is in and maybe sales will start picking up again soon.

February is going to be a giant party! Mont Tremblant, Randy’s birthday and a week in Alberta… for the mountains of course!

See you on the slopes 🏂
